Sterling College Homecoming

Well, I did not make it to the Sterling College Homecoming for the first time since my lovely graduation back in good old 2000 and one. This makes me a little sad, 'cause I like going back, I really do. I try and not be bitter about my college experience as so many people seem to be. I was for awhile, but i'm past that man, i'm past that. So in honor of ye old SC, I shall post a random memory from the "good ol' days". I typed this list up from some notes I found in a crate of notes I took in college. These were taken in Y-Wain Zimmerman's Physical Science (I called it "Physical Death) class in 2001 interterm. I didn't really enjoy the class that much, but i did a bit of snickering and giggling as I listened to Billig laugh at aformentioned proffesor's wit and charm. So in retrospect, it was fun. Here goes:

Quotes from Physical Science Innerterm Class 2001.

“It’s fun to sit there and watch them” -Y. Zimmerman on ceiling fans in church.

“I’m glad I’m not paying for this”- C. Scott on physical science 1/9/01

“You ‘gotta go to a merry-go-round and start playing with it, see what you can learn” -Y.Zimmerman

“It’s not a real safe thing to do...but hey, you only live once” -Y.Zimmerman before an experiment involving glass. 1/10/01

“Physics is Fun” -Y.Zimmerman at the end of class. 1/11/01

“I have here a device...called a golf ball” -Y.Zimmerman before an experiment. (date unknown)

“I wouldn’t have wanted to feel that” -Y.Zimmerman about 1 inch static charge zap. (date unknown)

“...Then we could get back to eating hamburgers and feel good about them” -Y.Zimmerman after disproving something about cows. 1/16/01

“I have a device here......that happens to be worthless” -Y.Zimmerman before a light experiment

“I don’t know what a fish looks like!” -A frustrated Y.Zimmerman trying in vain to draw on the chalk board a reflection of light off a fish. 1/18/01

“We highly discourage that kind of experimentation” -Y.Zimmerman on cats in microwaves 1/19/01

“I don’t recommend really looking at that bright light” -Y. Zimmerman while burning magnesium in class

“Here is a film.......It’s not something you’re going to learn a whole lot from” -Y.Zimmerman before showing a video to the class. 1/23/01

“This is an experiment you should never do” -Y.Zimmerman before conducting a dangerous experiment with gas. 1/24/01

as quick as the fog can leave sometimes
the quicker it returns with a few of it's friends...
but I will not stop starring at the colors
I will not stop walking around town

They Call Me the Working Man (yes, that is a Rush refference, and i don't care if you are too cool to think that's clever)

Dear faithful readers,
Man, for the first time in a long time, I can actually say without lying "i am very busy". Yes, dear readers, It may come to a shock to you all, but I am gainfully employed, alas full time! More news later. I am going to bed now, and it is just after nine, hooray for the workingman!

the life, the now

...there's something kinda depressing, and kinda comforting about being on this computer, searching whatever, listening to music when it calls, and listening to mom and dad working at a cross word puzzle in the kitchen (something they never used to do).
Today I rode my bike for a long time. The weather outside feels like Seattle, and I love it. I was riding up on the hill at Ku, and the football team was practicing their two minute drills with fake crowd noise blaring through the loud speakers obviously in an effort to be able to make plays without being able to hear. I couldn't help but think as my back was turned, pumping my legs up the steep hill, that maybe I was Lance Armstrong, and the crowd was roaring as I neared the top of the hill, pushing me on to beat the frenchmen....

Of Galatic Significance!

...well dear readers, I feel as if I should at least drop some crumbs, or words on this sight so you know I have not abandoned thee. Fear not, I am alive and doing moderately well, I just haven't felt like writing anything publicly for a month or so. There's hope for the future though. I will leave you today letting you know that I am currently eating a healthy apple, for those concerned about my fruit intake.
